LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - There are several "I wish" moments in which we express our regret.

Sometimes we need a quick pick-me-up and sometimes we need to take advantage of the moment to change out lives for the better - but where should we begin?

The best guide is the Bible, but a few really great people made a few thought-provoking and inspiring comments.

When paired with a Biblical view, these quotes can help us change our lives forever, but don't just read these lines; really think about what each quote and verse is saying.

How can you make the appropriate changes in your life?

"Our way of thinking creates good or bad outcomes." - Stephen Richards
"A glad heart is excellent medicine, a depressed spirit wastes the bones away." - Proverbs 17:22

Put simply, our attitude and perspective on life's situations will make a huge difference in how things turn out.

"I'd spent so long trying to fit in, trying to be someone i wasn't, that i had no idea who i was any more." - Dorothy Koomson, The Rose Petal Beach
"but the Lord said to Samuel, 'Take no notice of his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him; God does not see as human beings see; they look at appearances but the Lord looks at the heart." - 1 Samuel 16:7

God doesn't care about our outward appearance - He looks into who we are at heart, so be who you are and if you don't like who you are, change.

Be open to change

Be open to change

"He who spends too long regretting his ruined crop will be neglect to plant next year's harvest." - François Lelord
"Do not ask why the past was better than the present, for this is not a question prompted by wisdom." - Ecclesiastes 3:1

Don't waste your time lost in regret. Doing this only results in the loss of future greatness.

"Success is a decision, not a gift" - Steve Backley, The Champion in all of Us: 12 Rules for Success
"Hard work always yields its profit, idle talk brings only want." - Proverbs 14:23

Don't sit around hoping for success or change, work for it!

"Life is like a steering wheel, it only takes one small move to change your entire direction." - Kellie Elmore
"...whatever someone sows, that is what he will reap." - Galatians 7

Just because you see your life heading in one particular direction, it doesn't mean you can't make a change. Do what you know is right and reap the benefits.

We ask you, humbly: don't scroll away.

"Not being 'okay,' is a gift. And inside that gift, is the strength to change and the courage to begin again." - Kirstin Leigh
"Be strong, stand firm, have no fear, do not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God is going with you; he will not fail you or desert you." - Deuteronomy 31:6

When we are weak, he is strong. Rely on God's strength and do what you must.

"Don't just exist, live!"
"The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." - Proverbs 16:9

Don't just trudge from day to day, live your life the way God planned you to! Have fun, do amazing things with the gifts the Lord has equipped you with and, perhaps most importantly, follow the Lord, our God!
