LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The Bible is a treasure trove of information, advice, rules and more; so why not take advantage of it?

If you want a strong relationship with the person God hand-picked for you, keep the following scriptures in mind.

Really think about the message in these scriptures and formulate personalized prayers based on them:

Marriage must be honored by all, and marriages must be kept undefiled, because the sexually immoral and adulterers will come under God's judgement. - Hebrews 13:4

God wants us to honor ourselves and our marriage, so when you feel tempted to sin sexually, pray for the strength and wisdom to bypass the urges.

God will bless your union with your spouse.

A simple prayer can be:

Lord,
I pray for wisdom and strength to suppress the desires of the flesh.
Help me stay strong and be patient for my wedding night,
When you will bless our consummation as husband and wife.
Thank you Lord, for choosing the perfect man/woman for me.
Help me honor them, you, and myself by remaining pure.

Do not harness yourselves in an uneven team with unbelievers; how can uprightness and law-breaking be partners, or what can light and darkness have in common? 2 Corinthians 6:14

Do not be unevenly yoked!

Pray for a spouse who knows the Lord and who will walk the path of righteousness. Especially if you haven't met the love of your life yet, pray for your future spouse.

Pray for him or her to know and be strengthened in Christ, for the Lord to provide a divine encounter with your future spouse and to bless his or her life.

There is nothing I cannot do in the One who strengthens me. -Philippians 4:13

All things are possible in the Lord - so why not try and ask to do amazing things?

When faced with temptation, remember God is stronger. When you think about giving up because you haven't found "the one," pray for strength and stand strong in your faith.

Above all preserve an intense love for each other, since love covers over many a sin. -1 Peter 4:8

Remember to love one another.

All relationships have potholes - what makes a relationship strong is how the people involved handle those problems.

Remember, no matter what your spouse has done, love really can conquer all. People make mistakes and, though it can be difficult, it is possible to work through most problems.

Notice the scripture says "many a sin," not "all" sins.

Let faithful love and constancy never leave you: tie them round your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Thus you will find favor and success in the sight of God and of people. -Proverbs 3:3-4

It is repeated again and again throughout the Bible. WE NEED TO LEARN TO LOVE!!

Pope Francis has said it again and again. Love is the message Christ was sent to teach. He didn't die for our sins simply because he was told to - he died because he loves us, as does his Father and the Holy Spirit!

With must wear a faithful love around our neck and write it on our hearts. If we live with love, all will recognize it and see we are blessed.

Offer the Lord a simple prayer like the following:

Lord,
I ask for love.
Teach me to give and accept unconditional love.
Help me to love the difficult people in my life,
Encourage me to love my friends and family,
Teach me to hold tight to love.
Thank you, Lord, for your blessings and everlasting love.
Amen.
