Tras el accidente en la mina de Pozo Emilio del Valle en León (España), el Obispo de la diócesis, Mons. Julián López Martín, se desplazó hasta el lugar de la tragedia para acompañar a los familiares y alentarlos a la esperanza cristiana.

MADRID (ACI/EWTN Noticias) - El accidente ocurrido ayer ha dejado hasta ahora seis muertos y cinco afectados de distinta intensidad debido a la intoxicación por el escape repentino de gas grisú.

El Obispo de León, Mons. Julián López Martín, y el Vicario General, P. Jesús Fernández González, visitaron el lugar de la tragedia minera poco después de que tuviera lugar el accidente en las cercanías de Llombera de Gordón para acompañar en el dolor a las familias de las víctimas.

En ese sentido, el Prelado dijo que eleva a Dios misericordioso oraciones por el eterno descanso de los fallecidos y pide para sus familiares y amigos fortaleza humana y esperanza cristiana. A la vez expresa su deseo de que la recuperación de los heridos sea rápida y completa.

El accidente parece que tuvo lugar a las 14 horas del pasado 28 de octubre, cuando se encontraban en el interior de la mina 150 trabajadores.

La Junta de Castilla y León ha decretado tres días de luto por el accidente minero. La empresa ha manifestado su condolencia en un comunicado, mientras los sindicatos han convocado para este martes 29 de octubre un paro general en toda la minería del país en señal de duelo.

Se ha abierto una investigación para conocer las causas del accidente, por eso una juez del Juzgado de Guardia, acompañada por dos forenses, se ha trasladado al Pozo Emilio del Valle para identificar a los seis mineros muertos en el accidente y actualmente el Instituto de Medicina Legal de León está practicando las autopsias de los fallecidos.
