Let's Make the Right Choice and Reject the "KILL PILL"

On Tuesday, December 15, 2003, ten days before the world will pause to celebrate the birth of a homeless child whose life, death and Resurrection forever altered the course of human history, the "Food and Drug Administration" (FDA) of the United States Government, held a public hearing on a so-called "Plan B" Pill and recommended making it available over the counter without a prescription.

Heralded by its proponents as a "morning after" pill, it is purported to be different from Mifepristone (RU-486), which induces a miscarriage at any time after conception. It is not. It is simply a "kill pill." The company that produces the chemical agent delivered through this pill, Women's Capital Corp. (WCC), based in Washington, claims that their "Plan B" uses "progestin", a hormone used in contraceptive pills, to interfere with ovulation or prevent fertilization. As if that matters. A chemical weapon is a chemical weapon. The "Plan B" Pill is no different than methotrexate and misoprostol [abortion-inducing medications like RU-486] used for medical abortions.

The medical evidence clearly disputes the claim that this pill is "contraceptive", in the sense of preventing fertilization. To the contrary, in approximately 75 percent of cases, the pill is abortifacient. It makes implantation of a newly formed fetus impossible. This new human life, seeking shelter and nourishment, finds that there is no room in the first home of his/her mothers womb. That's right; this "Plan B" renders that child homeless. "Plan B" is a direct chemical attack on a unique human life

Ironically, this so-called "breakthrough" fits right in with the advance of a contemporary culture of death and use wherein persons are becoming products to be used rather than unique unrepeatable gifts to be received from the One who is the source and Giver of all life. Now, that new life is viewed, when inconvenient, as something to be discarded.

As we search the world for weapons of mass destruction to destroy before they can cause untold tragedy, we seem ready to approve their manufacture at home. Worse, an agency of the most powerful government on the earth is ready to encourage women to ingest them. The recommended approval of this weapon of mass destruction is nothing short of a governmental sanctioning of a self induced chemical attack on a living child in what has become the first battle field of our newly enlightened age, a mother's womb.

As we pause to remember that infant, born amidst farm animals, Shepherds and nomads because there was no room for him at the Inn, let's make the right choice. Let's reject "Plan B" as one more lie of an age that has lost the wonder of and beauty of a child, any child, at every age and stage. Let's embrace, "Plan A" revealed in Bethlehem, and kneel before the God who loved us all so much that He came among us, first in the sanctuary of the first home of the whole human race, the womb of an unwed mother who made the right choice when she raised the song of the ages, "Fiat" and showed us all the way of life and love.

Lets' Make the Right Choice and Reject the "KILL PILL"
