Tackles the tough questions: Gay marriage? Sanctity of marriage? Importance of marriage?

MADISON, NJ (October 26, 2011) - "There are so many questions that shroud the Catholic Church's teachings on marriage, so we want to pose those questions and delve into the answers," said Rev. Geno Sylva, S.T.D., Executive Director of St. Paul Inside the Walls Catholic Center, and Vicar for Evangelization for the Diocese of Paterson, New Jersey. "This marriage forum will provide a much-needed platform to discuss the meaning of marriage and the relevance it holds in today's culture."

The marriage forum will take place at the St. Paul Inside the Walls Catholic Center for Evangelization in Madison, NJ. The event boasts a panel and moderator with profound knowledge of the Catholic Church's teachings on marriage, as well deep insight into the understanding of marriage from a secular viewpoint. Bishop Arthur J. Serratelli STD, SSL, DD, Bishop of Paterson, NJ will be present.

"We are extremely excited to have a superb panel of philosophers, legal scholars and theologians tackling this topic," said Rev. Sylva. Professors Robert George, Dr. Helen Alvare, and Sherif Grigis will sit on the panel, while Rev. James Martin, S.J., author and editor of America magazine, will serve as moderator for the event. "It is an honor to have Fr. James Martin, S.J. moderate the evening. His wealth of knowledge and depth of spiritual insight will set an intellectual, yet pastoral tone for the forum."

"Our goal is to dialogue with both those who believe in the Church's teaching, and with those who listen with suspect ears. We want to provide a forum where such important issues can be discussed and the truth heard with the aim to bring the Gospel into contemporary culture," said Rev. Sylva. "Marriage is a hot-button issue that is under great scrutiny in our culture today. By opening lines of communication on this topic, we are hopeful that truth can be told and lives can be changed."
