Google Bans Pro-life Ad, Shows Favor to Pro-abortion ads in Enforcing Content Policy

Google, the popular search engine and web services company, recently notified R.A.G.E. Media that it's advertisement for Dr. William' Lile's pro-life DVD "God's Miracle of Life" was being pulled for violating a new content policy prohibiting ads related to "abortion and religion." However, a search on Google for the term abortion will show numerous sponsored ads for abortion facilities and pro-abortion information.

R.A.G.E. Media's original ad on Google's AdWords service stated: "Pro-Life DVD on Sale - Amazing 60-minute DVD only $12.99 Recommended by Priests for Life" and linked to that Amazon.com page where the DVD could be purchased. (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000GUSGB4/ragemedall/)

Google sent a notification dated September 20 that "Google policy does not permit the advertisement of websites that contain 'abortion and religion-related content'" but that "the decisions we make concerning advertising in no way affect the search results we deliver."

"Google drew criticism from free speech groups earlier this year for its cooperation with the Chinese government to censor its searches Chinese-language site," noted Paul Nowak, president of R.A.G.E. Media. "Now Google has begun arbitrarily enforcing its own content regulations, not due to governmental pressure, but in order to ally itself with certain political and social groups in the United States that promote certain vies on controversial issues, namely support for abortion.

"The very fact that Google allows pro-abortion sites and abortion services to advertise while banning pro-life websites from doing the same - even prohibiting pro-life content on major websites like Amazon.com - shows that Google is not below imposing its views on internet users, even in the United States," added Nowak.

Footage from Dr. William Lile's DVD "God's Miracle of Life" demonstrating the partial-birth abortion procedure was released on the internet in April as a free online clip, and was viewed by thousands of people within days as the video was heralded by pro-life and Catholic organizations including Focus on the Family, Kath.net, and LifeSiteNews.com. The free online footage, shows Dr. Lile using the actual abortionists' tools to demonstrate how the procedure is performed, using only a sheet, a chair, and a baby doll - no blood or disturbing images. However, it is apparent that the procedure is not a lifesaving measure, as the entire child must be delivered via an intrusive process that can take days.

"This is a whole new generation from what has been previously used to educate the public online, which up to know has been simple diagrams of the procedure," commented Nowak, who made the footage available online with permission from Dr. Lile.

"Seeing the actual procedure's steps, even so simply demonstrated, strips away the arguments of why this barbaric procedure should be allowed," added Nowak.

Dr. Lile's entire presentation, however, is far more than just a demonstration of abortion procedures. Using ultrasound technology and in-vitro cameras, Dr. Lile shows viewers the incredible development of the human child in its mother's womb. The DVD presentation is an incredible pro-life education tool.
