Martyred bishop of Milan, Italy. A Greek who was educated in Rome, Calirnerius was a disciple of Pope St. Telesphorus. He was appointed bishop of Milan, preached in the area, and was called "the Apostle of the Valley of the Pa River." In the persecutions started by the Emperor Commodus, Calimerius was flung head first into a well. His relics are buried under the high altar of his church in Milan.
