FREE Catholic Classes
Despite selling 25,000 copies in a week, Little Big Town's newest hit song "Girl Crush" was forced not to be played on air after complaints from listeners of country radio stations. According to the reports, the song had earned negative reviews from people subscribing to the on-air programs and threatening never to listen to them again if the song and the likes will be played. To date, some country stations still refuse to put the song out on the airwaves.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - The song's theme had been used for over the times, which is why the negative fallback is still puzzling to the band. The explicit message of the song is on how the girl feels, admitting that she still wants her ex-boyfriend, who is now in a new relationship which provokes her jealousy.
However, some people are claiming that it is promoting gay agenda, seemingly through the lines of member Karen Fairchild. In the song, she sings: "I want to taste her lips, yeah cause they taste like you / I want to drown myself in a bottle of her perfume / I want her long blond hair, I want her magic touch / Yeah cause maybe then, you'd want me just as much... I got a girl crush."

Fairchild and the rest of the band sees the issue as problematic. "Just the fact that we're still discussing that, number one, there's so many problems with that whole issue," she answered when DJ Bobby Bones asked if they felt frustrated to the reactions of the people and the refusal of country radio shows to air them because they see it as a lesbian song, according to Washington Post.
"It shouldn't even matter if it's a lesbian song, is the first thing," explained Bones.
