LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Seventy-three-year-old Ford's 41 movies, including "The Force Awakens" has grossed a total of $4.7 billion. "The Force Awakens" accounts for $770 million of that.

It forced the previous record holder, actor Samuel L. Jackson, whose 68 films having a combined gross of $4.6 billion.

Ford's net worth is estimated at $230 million. To say that Ford's doing nicely is an understatement.

In related news, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" pushed James Cameron's "Avatar" to become the highest-grossing domestic movie of all time.

J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars" earned enough last Wednesday to pass the James Cameron epic $760.5 million lifetime gross, after just 20 days of opening. It took "Avatar" 72 days to earn that much at the box office.

The worldwide record however still belongs to "Avatar." "The Force Awakens" has earned $1.6 billion to date, in contrast to "Avatar's" $2.8 billion.

That could all change as "The Force Awakens" opens in china, the world's preeminent market for movies.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has broken records since its release, starting with its opening weekend when it made a staggering $248 million at the box office.

It had an equally impressive second weekend, earning $153.5 million, another record.
