St. Pamphilus
Facts
Bishop of Sulmona and Corfinium, Abruzzi, Italy. While venerated for his deep sanctity, he was nevertheless accused before Pope Sergius of being an Arian. The basis of the charge was that Pamphilus said Mass before sunrise on Sunday morning. Completely vindicated, Pamphilus was sent a gift by the pope to be distributed to the poor.
