Saint Stephen of Cuneo was an Italian Franciscan religious brother who served the Catholic mission in Japan. He joined the missionaries who preached the Gospel and cared for the Christian communities during a time of severe persecution.

Stephen was crucified at Nagasaki on February 5, 1597, with the other Twenty-Six Martyrs of Japan. He was canonized by Pope Pius IX in 1862 and is honored as a witness to the universal call to missionary discipleship.
