Baby showed signs of life at the 18 week gestational period.

In May 2015, 30-year-old mother of two, Charity Tanner, felt that she was painful contractions in the middle night and quickly woke her husband Matt, who took her immediately to the hospital. At 18-weeks-pregnant, Tanner miscarried and gave birth to a tiny boy.

HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA (Catholic Online) - Lifesite News reported Charity and Matt's happy news that Charity was pregnant. Both were eager to have a new baby and gave their children a gift bag with swaddling blankets, a pair of baby socks and a framed ultrasound picture. They asked the kids to guess what the items could mean.

In a video Charity took during the event, her son Ryan happily announced, "Baby stuff. You're pregnant."One month later, Charity started bleeding.

In an exclusive phone interview with Charity, she said, "I was basically bleeding non- stop. It was just getting heavier as the days passed."

Charity was then told by the doctors that she had a complication called placenta previa, which means her baby's placenta had attached to the wrong place in her uterus and was covering her cervix. They have informed her that in many cases, the problem often corrected itself, but the worst-case-scenario meant they would have to do an emergency cesarean once the baby was 24 weeks, but the baby would have a good chance of survival.

Unfortunately for Charity, she kept on bleeding.

When doctors offered an abortion to stop the bleeding, the Tanners were shocked. "My husband and I were like, 'No that's not even an option.' There was nothing at all wrong with this baby. He was perfect. He was completely, perfectly, and beautifully formed. I was going to do everything in my power to keep him alive," Charity said.
"My baby had its own life, its own beating heart, and was alive and had potential. Taking all that away was not something I could do," she continued.

When she woke with painful contractions that fateful night, Matt woke five-year-old Caylee and eight-year-old Ryan so the family could rush to the hospital. Their rush was so frantic both children were still wearing their pajamas by the time the family arrived.

That night Charity gave birth to a fragile baby through a normal vaginal birth. Everyone in the room had assumed the baby was dead since the heartbeat picked up during the ultrasound prior to Charity's delivery had hardly picked up anything.

Jaxon Tanner (Charity Tanner FB).

They saw their baby boy beautifully and completely formed with ten toes and ten fingers. When the Tanners cuddled their son, they noticed his chest was rising and falling and that his heart was beating. A nurse have told them that it was most likely electrical impulses but the baby's parents saw it as a sign of life. They were amazed and captured their time with him on video.

They named him Jaxon. Unfortunately, baby Jaxon did not last the night but he did get to meet his parents and older siblings, all of whom held him, cuddled him and spoke loving words to the boy.

Charity and Matt Tanner attended their 18-week-old son Jaxon's burial service.

The parents, who are both Christians, believe they will see their son again. Charity hopes that by releasing the video and images of her baby, people will realize that abortion should not be an option as infants as young as 18-weeks-old are already "very much a whole person."
