LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - "Jessica Jones," based upon the marvel superhero comic book series, is debuting on Netflix this month. Starring Krysten Ritter, this original series follows the story of a private investigator running from a dark past, confronting a villain who has the power of mind control.

In addition, "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie" and "Anna Karenina" will be hitting earlier this month. Viewer favorites such as Season 3 of "Ultimate Spider-Man," and season 4 of "Switched at Birth" will be available as well.

Amazon in the meantime is debuting the original series "The Man in High Castle," based on the Phillip K. Dick science-fiction classic. "High Castle" is set in an alternate universe where the Axis powers won World War II and follows the efforts of an underground resistance movement.

Season 5 of "Teen Wolf" and "Falling Skies," crop up as well as movies like Adam Sandler's "Eight Crazy Nights," "The Enemy Below" and "Awakenings," which will all be available soon.

Hulu is betting on the growing theatrical release of "Spectre," the latest in the James Bond series, by screening such spy classics as "Diamonds Are Forever," "Goldfinger" and "Man with the Golden Gun." Hulu viewers with an add-on will also be able to catch such cult classics as "Superstar" and "Adventures in Babysitting."

The expected holiday programming is on its way in the form of "Garfield's Thanksgiving" and "My Santa, My Dad" and "The Secret of the Nutcracker" later this month.

Overall, it is as good a time as any to pull up to your crackling big-screen TV and enjoy some top-flight movie and TV entertainment this month.
