Welsh hermit and abbot, also called Maudetus and Maudez. He lived as a solitary near Falmouth, in Cornwall, England, where his name is still venerated. He then went to an island off the coast of Brittany, France, where he is revered as St. Maudez. He is believed to have founded monasteries and churches in Coruwall and Brittany.
