Bishop. A native of Africa, he was forced to leave his homeland during the invasion of Africa by the Arian Vandals. These Arians began a persecution of orthodox Christians. Settling in Gaul, he served the Church and was eventually appointed bishop of Clermont as successor to St. Euphrasius.
