Saint Saturninus of Cagliari was a Christian martyr of Sardinia who refused to participate in pagan worship. During the persecution of the Emperor Diocletian, he remained faithful to Christ despite the threat of torture and death.
Saturninus was put to death at Cagliari and became the principal patron of the city. The local Church continues to honor him as a steadfast witness to the Gospel and to the grace of martyrdom.
