Saint Elias of Palestine was a Christian monk and martyr who lived during the persecutions of the early Church. He sought God in prayer and ascetic discipline and remained faithful to Christ when the confession of the Catholic faith brought suffering.

Elias accepted martyrdom rather than deny the Lord. His witness belongs to the long tradition of Palestinian monks and Christians who offered their lives for the Gospel and strengthened the Church through patient endurance.
