Saint Cunigunde of Luxembourg was a Christian empress who used her position to serve the Church and the poor. With her husband, Emperor Saint Henry II, she supported monasteries, churches, and charitable works throughout the Holy Roman Empire.
After Henry’s death, Cunigunde entered the monastery of Kaufungen, where she lived in prayer, humility, and service. She was canonized by Pope Innocent III in 1200 and is honored as a model of Christian authority surrendered to God.
