Saint María Soledad Torres y Acosta was a Spanish religious sister and foundress of the Servants of Mary, Ministers to the Sick. Born in Madrid, she answered the call to care for the poor and sick, especially those who had no one else to assist them.
She formed women to bring nursing care, prayer, and the consolations of the Catholic faith into homes. Through hidden service and steadfast charity, she reflected the merciful love of Christ. Pope Paul VI canonized her in 1970.
