Saint María de la Purísima Salvat Romero was a Spanish religious sister of the Sisters of the Company of the Cross. Born in Madrid, she entered religious life and took the name María de la Purísima de la Cruz, dedicating herself to prayer, humility, and service to the poorest members of society.

As superior general, she strengthened the congregation’s fidelity to the charism of Saint Angela of the Cross and encouraged her sisters to serve the sick, the elderly, and abandoned children. Her life was marked by hidden charity and complete trust in God. She died in Seville in 1998 and was canonized by Pope Francis in 2015.
