Saint Jan of Oisterwijk was a Dutch priest and one of the Martyrs of Gorkum. He served the Catholic faithful during the religious upheavals of the sixteenth century and remained loyal to the Church and the ministry entrusted to him.

Jan was captured with other Catholic clergy and religious when Gorkum fell to the Watergeuzen. He endured imprisonment and cruel treatment rather than deny the Eucharist and the authority of the Church. He was hanged at Brielle on July 9, 1572, and was canonized by Pope Pius IX in 1867.
