The following All-American list, as described, is a preseason compilation, which means the choices made were and are based on projections. Consisting of three dynamic teams, both offensive and defensive, the CSN Catholic All-American Team was compiled using various preexisting prospect and recruit ranking lists, as well as the following criteria: 2009 player statistics, recent success of player's high school football program, strength of player's college football team recruitment or interest, and feeback from analysts and coaches.

span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">LOUISVILLE, KY (Catholic Sports Net) - In today's world of amateur sports, prospect and recruit lists and rankings are king. To earn national recognition for athletic prowess is a significant accomplishment, and can often times generate buzz, lead to further notoriety, and create opportunities for athletes to play at the next level.

Never before, however, has a list like the following been created. And with the unprecedented release of the first-ever Catholic high school football preseason All-American team, CatholicSportsNet has provided 75 high school football athletes with a new form of recognition for their on-field accomplishments.

The following All-American list, as described, is a preseason compilation, which means the choices made were and are based on projections. Consisting of three dynamic teams, both offensive and defensive, the CSN Catholic All-American Team was compiled using various preexisting prospect and recruit ranking lists, as well as the following criteria: 2009 player statistics, recent success of player's high school football program, strength of player's college football team recruitment or interest, and feeback from analysts and coaches.

So, without further adieu, here are the selections:

CSN Catholic All-American Preseason First Team Offense

QB Max Wittek, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA); 6'4/215 (committed to USC)

One of the most highly recruited quarterbacks in the country. Has tremendous vision, great footwork, and is very fundamentally sound. During his junior season, Wittek completed 136 of 230 passes for 2,126 yards and 15 touchdowns.

RB Jeremy Hill, Redemptorist (Baton Rouge, LA); 6'1/220 (committed to LSU)

Combination of size/power and great hands make him a versatile back. As a junior, Hill carried the ball 244 times, rushing for 1,653 yards and 24 touchdowns.

RB Jameel Poteat, Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, PA); 5'11/195 (committed to Pittsburgh)

Great size, feet, in-line strength as well as good blocking and receiving skills make him the total package. During his junior season, Poteat had 1,638 rushing yards, 243 receiving yards, and 29 touchdowns, which followed over 1,400 yards and 20 total touchdowns during his sophomore year.

WR George Farmer, Junipero Serra (Gardena, CA); 6'2/192 (considering Florida, Notre Dame, Alabama, and Texas)

One of the best pure athletes in the nation for the Class of 2011, he is a true playmaker. Farmer is a thickly built, athletic prospect with great speed to stretch the field vertically, but also possesses the ability to turn the short catch into a homerun.

WR Victor Blackwell, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA); 6'1/186 (committed to USC)

Blackwell is an athletic prospect that hasn't even come close to reaching his upside. He possesses terrific size and open field running ability and he also displays very good straight-line speed for his size.

WR Rashad Greene, St. Thomas Aquinas (Ft. Lauderdale, FL); 6'0/175 (committed to Florida)

Posted a time of 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the Under Armour prospect combine and catches the ball well out in front of his body. Greene is a smart player who gets open using athleticism and technique.

TE Troy Niklas, Servite (Anaheim, CA); 6'7/243 (considering Notre Dame, Penn State, Stanford, and California)

His large build makes him an extremely productive blocker, but his athleticism allows him to be an equally effective pass catcher off the line.

OT Cyrus Kouandijo, DeMatha (Hyattsville, MD); 6'7/322 (considering Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame, and West Virginia)

Arguably the best offensive linemen in all of high school football, Kouandijo runs very, very well for his large size and is explosive out of his three-point stance. This prospect shows a bit of a mean streak, will punish defenders when the opportunity presents itself, and is basically a lock to be an immediate starter in college.

OT La'El Collins, Redemptorist (Baton Rouge, LA); 6'5/285 (committed to LSU)

Collins combines agility, flexibility, and brute strength in his game, which makes him an ideal lineman for quarterbacks. Ran the 40 in 5.37 and has a vertical jump of 24 inches.

C Andrew Ness, Christian Brothers College (St. Louis, MO); 6'4/298 (considering Arkansas, Rice, Wisconsin, and Missouri)

With great size and excellent technical execution (specifically the center-to-QB shotgun exchange), Ness makes for an outstanding offensive center. He is considering the likes of Wisconsin, Kansas State, Missouri, and Purdue.

OG Trai Turner, St. Augustine (New Orleans, LA); 6'5/340 (committed to LSU)

Explosive lineman who overpowers defensive opponents with his quickness off the ball (has fast feet for his size) and force behind his drive.

OG Ryan Klachko, Sacred Heart Griffin (Springfield, IL); 6'4/287 (committed to Nebraska)

He is tough and aggressive, but plays his position with great balance and flexibility, particularly during run blocking. Will be a great addition to a traditionally run-first Cornhuskers team.

PK Connor Loftus, Service (Anaheim, CA); 5'11/182 (considering Harvard, Florida, North Carolina, and UCLA)

Known for the huge lift he gets under the ball, Loftus is a kicking specialist and is as consistent as they come on kickoffs. As a junior, he kicked nine field goals, including a long of 49 yards.

CSN Catholic All-American Preseason First Team Defense

DT Mustafa Jalil, Cathedral Catholic (San Diego, CA); 6'4/300 (committed to California)

A behemoth of a bull-rushing defensive tackle, Jalil can simply out strength and athlete players at the high school level, because he is so superior physically. He's big and strong, and can run like an end.

DT Marquise Wright, Paramus Catholic (Paramus, NJ); 6'3/265 (committed to Pittsburgh)

Heavily recruited nationwide before his verbal commitment to Pitt. He is an excellent defensive tackle with a balanced size/speed combination. He also placed seventh in the shot put at the New Jersey SIAA Meet of Champions last year.

DE Brennan Scarlett, Central Catholic (Portland, OR); 6'5/255 (considering Arizona State, BYU, Oregon, and Washington)

He had 59 tackles and six sacks during his junior season, and is on pace for an even bigger senior year despite an injury to his knee.

DE Jalen Grimble, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, NV); 6'3/255 (committed to USC)

Runs extremely well for a big man, enabling him to chase down plays from the back side and make an impact on plays going away from him. Has a good change of direction which helps him finish plays in the backfield.

LB Jason Gibson, Junipero Serra (Gardena, CA); 6'3/212 (considering Florida, Miami, Oregon, and Washington State)

Tall, very well-built and put-together for a projected outside linebacker. Has a good reach and length to his frame, making him a tough to get around in the middle of the field.

LB Steven Daniels, St. Xavier (Cincinnati, OH); 6'0/225 (considering Illinois, Cincinnati, Louisville, and Ohio State)

Flexible athlete displaying the balance and agility necessary to work through traffic. Possesses the size and athleticism for the inside linebacker position at the major level of competition.

CB Doran Grant, St. Vincent-St. Mary (Akron, OH); 5'10/171 (considering Notre Dame, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, and Michigan)

Makes up for his size with his vision, as he possesses the ability to always find the ball, get to it, and make or disrupt a play. He is a playmaking corner with great quickness, athleticism and awareness skills.

CB Blake Countess, Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, MD); 5'10/170 (considering Illinois, Louisville, Pittsburgh, and Wake Forest)

Shows good coverage awareness skills, including the ability to read routes and the quarterback accurately. Steady and heady cornerback prospect with natural cover corner skills.

CB Marcus Roberson, St. Thomas Aquinas (Ft. Lauderdale, FL); 6'1/170 (considering Auburn, Florida, Louisville, and LSU)

A versatile defender who is tall and sleek. Has good height and a lean frame, which allows him to run with receivers and go up with them on high throws and down field plays.

S Jabari Gorman, Monsignor Pace (Miami, FL); 5'11/170 (considering Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, and South Carolina)

One of the best all-around athletes in the class of '11, Gorman showed his versatility his junior season with Jabari Gorman showed his versatility during his junior season with over 300 yards rushing and 700 yards receiving. He also finished the year with almost 80 total tackles and four interceptions (two returned for scores).

S Evan Zeger, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, NV); 6'2/200 (committed to Washington)

Had 55 tackles, four blocked punts, four interceptions and a blocked field goal in leading his team to the state championship. He has a good blend of size, range and versatility. Tall with a lean, but well-defined frame that should continue to add size.

P Kristopher Albarado, St. Louis Catholic (Lake Charles, LA); 6'0/180 (considering Northwestern, Florida, Texas A&M, and LSU)

A two-time participant at the "Event Elite" punting competition, Albarado has a strong leg and excellent technique. Booted a 59-yard punt in a game during his junior season.
