We ask you, urgently: don't scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Sebelius Confirmation Delayed: Time for Catholic Action

Image of If confirmed, Governor Sebelius will be placed in charge of building a new health care system in the United States. She has already made her positions clear. She will support the fabricated “right” to reach into a womb and take the life of a child and call such barbarism a “health service”, extracting federal tax dollars to commit the act. She has demonstrated her posture on the myriad of other issues related to this unjust law in her governance at the State level.

We have witnessed the growth of a phenomenon I have called in the past 'Anti-Catholic Catholics'. They must be exposed, opposed and ... continue reading

Courageous Notre Dame Professor Defends Truth & Life over ‘Prestige’

Image of (The Grotto at the University of Notre Dame) Today we have prayed to Our Lady and her Son in atonement for this betrayal, as well as in atonement for our own individual failures to bring the life-giving and liberating message of the Gospel to those around us. Mary is the patroness not only of this university, but also of the Congregation of Holy Cross, under the title of Our Lady of Sorrows.

No one can pretend that the administrators of Our Lady’s university, who undoubtedly issued their invitation to the President long ... continue reading

Archbishop Miller, Pt. III: Re-Forming Consciences

Image of Today, the word “love” is so spoiled, worn out and abused that we almost fear to pronounce it. And yet it is a fundamental word, an expression of the primordial reality: our vocation to love and be loved. We cannot simply abandon it, but we must take it up again, purify it and bring it to its original splendour so that it can illumine our life and guide it on the right path.

If we can succeed in making the theology of the body more widely known we will make the pro-life movement more attractive to the new ... continue reading

Archbishop Miller, Pt. II: Building a Culture of Life

Image of We must now adopt all the weapons of spiritual warfare, offering prayers not only for the direct perpetrators of attacks on human life but also for elected officials: that hearts will be converted to love for life.

As a Catholic Christian and pastor of the Archdiocese of Vancouver, I believe the pro-life movement can be increasingly effective in the ... continue reading

Archbishop J. Michael Miller: How to Renew our Society, Pt. 1

Image of Our goal is, simply stated: we seek a Canada in which every unborn child is protected in law and welcomed in life. Legal reform - which we must work to foster through the political processes we are fortunate to enjoy in a democracy - and a spiritual/cultural renewal must both take place if Canada is to experience a new birth of freedom ordered to goodness.

We are facing an enormous and dramatic clash between good and evil, death and life, the `culture of death' and the `culture of life'. ... continue reading

Notre Dame Shame: Nick Healy Addresses his Alma Mater

Image of (Picture,Ave Maria Chapel). Those with any sense of our political currents know that it is only a matter of time — perhaps one or two years — before Catholic hospitals and Catholic doctors will be forced to perform abortions and sterilizations. Hospitals will close and doctors might well leave their practice. Some of those Catholic politicians who promulgate these grave injustices will be excommunicated. This in turn could begin a cycle of increasing persecution of the Church. Notre Dame has announced where it stands on this: with the Power, not with the Church.

I am deeply ashamed of my alma mater and can only hope that you will yet be persuaded of the wrongness of this decision. Notre Dame has ... continue reading

Abortion Questions Remain Unasked at Final Sebelius Hearing

Image of As governor, Sebelius vetoed the Comprehensive Abortion Reform Act, legislation to implement restrictions on late-term abortion procedures. She has opposed or vetoed several abortion-accountability bills, including medically-supported clinic regulation legislation which she vetoed in both 2003 and 2005. She also vetoed legislation requiring explicit medical reasons for late-term abortions.

Sebelius testified before the Finance Committee today and appeared before the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee on March 31. ... continue reading

Red and Yellow, Black and White ... Not All Precious in Our Sight

Image of We must come to grip with awful facts. There are those who believe killing black children will somehow make them safer. Some believe black babies are worthless and should be killed before they become welfare recipients. Why else would Planned Parenthood prey on black, poor women in urban and minority areas? This is the greatest civil rights battle of our time!

We must eliminate racism wherever it lives and the Prenatal Non-Discrimination Act (PreNDA) will help to do just that. WASHINGTON, D.C. ... continue reading

Catholic League: Conscience Rights Defeated

Image of No one in the health care field should ever be compelled by law to perform or assist in a procedure that violates his conscience. This should be an elementary right, yet there are those who want to trespass on it.

The failure of the administration and the Senate to protect freedom of conscience is an outrageous violation of human rights and a slap in ... continue reading
