On the evening of January 29, 2025, tragedy struck just miles from the nation's capital when a regional jet carrying 60 passengers and four crew members collided with a U.S. Army helicopter. The collision occurred while the aircraft were approaching Ronald Reagan National Airport near Washington, D.C., sending both planes into the icy waters of the Potomac River. This heartbreaking incident claimed the lives of all aboard both aircraft.
