Chocolate-Almond Biscotti Ingredients: 1 ÂĽ cups sugar
ÂĽ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 ÂĽ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
ÂĽ teaspoon salt
½ cup chopped almonds
2 eggs
1 teaspoon almond extract
½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened Instructions for baking: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs with extract and butter. Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Add flour mixture and remaining ingredients a little at a time, to butter mixture and stir well after each addition. (Dough will be stiff.) 3. Divide dough in half. Shape each half in log about 12 inches long. Place both logs on sprayed baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes or until logs set. 4. Remove from oven and cool on baking sheet for 10 minutes. Use sharp, serrated knife to cut each log diagonally into ½ -inch slices. 5. Place slices on baking sheets and bake for another 7 minutes. Turn each slice over and bake for another 7 to 8 minutes. 6.
