LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - No more roses, no more chocolate - and definitely no more heart-shaped everything!

Are you done with boring, traditional Valentine's Day celebrations? Try something new this year to surprise your Valentine - or your friends!

You don't know how to celebrate? There are a ton of ideas from praying as a couple to getting professional photos taking. Here are Catholic Online's top 5 non-cheesy Valentine's Day celebrations:

Do Something Extreme

Have you always wanted to try skydiving? What about riding that roller coaster you've always been hesitant about?

Get out there and mark Valentine's Day by making an unforgettable memory!

Throw a Party

Who says Valentine's Day has to restrict your love to only your significant other? What about your friends and family? Why not let them get in on your affections by throwing a party - one without tacky decorations, heart-shaped everything and lovey-dovey music.

Host a game night, throw a barbecue, head to the park for a game of basketball or soccer, throw a potluck, have a poker night - however you like to party, we say do it!

Celebrate "Galentine's Day"

"Galentine's Day" was created from TV show "Parks and Recreation."

Basically, what Galentine's Day celebrates are all of the women in a woman's life - whether they have familial or friendly ties.

Though "Parks and Recreation" character Leslie Knope celebrates on February 13, it is a great idea to celebrate on the 14th.

There is no male version of Galentine's Day, but men can feel free to celebrate their friends and family on the 14th as well!

Celebrate Valentine's Day According to a Different Culture

Nothing will surprise your Valentine as much as receiving gifts like the release of a cluster of lanterns, which was a traditional Chinese festival for Valentine's Day. What about going to a concert, like people in Russia do?

A little bit of research can yield several ideas to surprise your Valentine this year outside the traditional gifts of flowers and teddy bears holding hearts.

Do Absolutely Nothing

What's better than fighting traffic and waiting in long lines at popular restaurants?

Well, pretty much everything, but little can compare to doing absolutely nothing for Valentine's Day!

Sit around in your pajamas at home all day long! Eat leftovers or, if you're feeling like adding a touch of V-day, order a heart-shaped pizza!

Enjoy your Valentine's Day in the comfort of your home and catch up on your favorite TV show, learn something new from the Discovery Channel or just enjoy the company of your significant other.

Now that you have a few ideas, go out there and surprise your Valentine with a celebrate they'll never forget!
