Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - The number of people enrolled in Obamacare has dropped from 12.7 million to 11.1 million. This reduction took place between January and the end of March as fewer people paid their premiums.
Part of the problem is rising insurance premiums. Middle class families are having increasing difficulty covering the rising costs of insurance, even with government subsidies in some cases. Meanwhile, those who are unemployed or otherwise dependent on government assistance get free care.
But nothing is really free, someone has to pay. And that burden is falling increasingly on the middle class. The wealthy are also being soaked, but they can generally withstand the increases better than most middle class families.
Some families can spend over a thousand dollars per month on simple health insurance.
And to not have insurance will subject you to a penalty.
It has been widely speculated that Obamacare is designed to fail as a backdoor means of pushing Americans into a single payer system. Regardless, one thing is certain. As more people use more insurance, but fewer people pay, the system will collapse on itself.
