'If that's what our family's supposed to look like, we're fine with that'

Duck Dynasty stars Jase and Missy Robertson were interviewed by The Church Boys, where the couple opened up about Missy's tubal pregnancy and the belief that a third child wouldn't be possible, until God intervened.

The Robertsons discovered Missy was pregnant and were overjoyed until they learned the baby had a cleft palate and was later born struggling to breathe on her own. The couple held tight to their Christian faith and believed God would save their daughter.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - The Robertsons were blessed with two healthy boys before Missy suffered an ectopic pregnancy - the fetus developed in her Fallopian tube - which made the having another child out of the question. The couple was understandably devastated at the loss of the child but accepted the boys God gave them.

During the podcast, Missy recalled, "[We thought], 'You know what, we're happy. We're satisfied with two healthy beautiful boys. If that's what our family's supposed to look like, we're find with that."

Three months later, the Robertsons were pregnant with Mia.

But Mia came into their world whom they have wholeheartedly accepted from God, including her health struggles that rattled the whole family.

"At first, we were just overjoyed. And then the second ultrasound, all of the sudden we know, 'Okay, there's going to be some issues,'" Jase admitted.

Mia was discovered to have a cleft palate, which compelled the couple to question "why?" As Christians, they turned to God and relied on faith.

After Mia's birth, doctors told the celebrity couple the infant was struggling to breathe on her own.

"Once we knew that she was severe and she wasn't breathing well on her own, then the delivery room kind of turned into chaos," Jase explained, calling the scene a "life-changing moment," as his concern for Mia grew.

But God is good and merciful to His children.

Following 8 surgeries and multiple procedures, Mia began to flourish. TheBlaze reported 12-year-old Mia accompanied her parents to the podcast and her story is featured in Missy's book Blessed, Blessed, Blessed.

Following Mia's diagnosis, the Robertsons founded a charity organization with a goal of "raising awareness and funds towards research, treatments and causes of cleft lip[s] and palate[s]," called the Mia Moo Fund.

Though much of the podcast highlighted Mia's story, comedic stories and other, lighter, topics were included. Listen to the podcast here.
