Saint Theodore of Amasea, also called Theodore Tiron, was a Christian soldier and martyr during the persecution of the Roman emperors. He refused to sacrifice to pagan gods and openly confessed that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Theodore endured imprisonment and death rather than deny the Catholic faith. The Church honors him as a courageous soldier of Christ whose witness strengthened Christians during the Great Persecution.
