Saint Teresa of Jesus Jornet Ibars was a Spanish religious sister and foundress of the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly. She recognized Christ in elderly people who were poor, lonely, or without family and dedicated her life to their care.

Teresa founded homes where the elderly received practical assistance, Christian charity, and the dignity owed to every person made in the image of God. Pope Paul VI canonized her in 1974, and the Church honors her as a patron of the elderly.
