Saint Symphorosa was a Christian mother and martyr of ancient Rome. After the martyrdom of her husband, Saint Getulius, she remained faithful to Christ and raised her sons in the Christian faith.

Symphorosa and her seven sons were arrested and killed because they refused to sacrifice to pagan gods. The Church honors her courage as a mother who preferred fidelity to Christ above the safety of her family and herself.
