Saint Salonius was a fifth-century bishop of Geneva and the son of Saint Eucherius of Lyon. He received a strong Christian formation and served the Church through preaching, pastoral care, and the defense of Catholic teaching.

Salonius took part in the life of the Church in Gaul and helped guide the faithful during a time of theological controversy. His memory is preserved as that of a bishop devoted to truth, prayer, and the salvation of souls.
