Saint Pontianus of Spoleto was a young Christian martyr of the Church in Umbria. He refused to sacrifice to the pagan gods and remained faithful to Jesus Christ when the authorities threatened him with torture and death.

Pontianus was martyred at Spoleto and became a source of courage for the local Christian community. The Church honors him as a witness who preferred the crown of life to the temporary security offered by apostasy.
