Saint Matiya Mulumba was a Ugandan Catholic layman and catechist who received the Gospel during the early evangelization of Buganda. He served the Christian community with fidelity and helped others learn the Catholic faith.

Matiya was arrested during the persecution of the Uganda Martyrs and suffered a cruel death at Old Kampala on May 30, 1886. He remained faithful to Christ rather than renounce the faith. Pope Paul VI canonized him in 1964.
