Saint Edmund of Abingdon was an English priest, teacher, and Archbishop of Canterbury. He studied at Oxford and Paris, taught theology, and became known for his learning, preaching, and devotion to the Eucharist.

As archbishop, Edmund worked for the reform of the clergy, defended the rights of the Church, and cared for the poor. He died in exile at Pontigny while seeking peace and justice for the Church. Pope Innocent IV canonized him in 1246.
