Saint Theotonius of Coimbra was a Portuguese priest and one of the founders of the Congregation of the Holy Cross. He served the Church through prayer, preaching, spiritual direction, and a life marked by poverty and fidelity to the Gospel.

Theotonius became a trusted adviser to the Christian rulers of Portugal but remained detached from worldly honors. He helped renew religious life and cared for the poor, guiding his community toward a deeper love of Christ and the Church.
