Saint Hugh of Châteauneuf was a French bishop of Grenoble who welcomed Saint Bruno and helped establish the Carthusian Order. He served his diocese with reforming zeal, concern for the poor, and a strong commitment to the renewal of clerical life.
Hugh supported the founding of the monastery at Chartreuse while continuing to care for the people of Grenoble. His episcopal ministry combined contemplation, hospitality, and courageous defense of the Church. He died in 1132.
