Saint Hripsime was an Armenian virgin and martyr who refused to abandon her consecration to Christ. According to the ancient tradition of the Armenian Church, she fled persecution and reached Armenia with companions devoted to the Christian faith.

She rejected worldly power and endured martyrdom rather than compromise her fidelity to the Lord. Her witness helped prepare the way for the conversion of Armenia and remains central to Armenian Christian memory.
