Saint Rögnvald Kali Kolsson, also known as Saint Ronald of Orkney, was a Norwegian earl who sought to govern with justice and Christian wisdom. He received the earldom of Orkney and worked to establish peace during a period of rivalry and violence.

Rögnvald was also a poet and pilgrim who desired to visit the Holy Land. He founded the cathedral at Kirkwall in honor of Saint Magnus and was killed in Caithness in 1158. His memory was preserved by the faithful of Orkney as an example of a ruler seeking to place power at the service of God.
