Blessed Sancha of Portugal was a Portuguese infanta and daughter of King Afonso III. Although born to royal privilege, she sought to live with humility and Christian charity rather than relying on the honors of her position.
Sancha supported religious foundations and works of mercy and is traditionally remembered for a life of prayer and generous service. After her death, devotion to her grew among the Portuguese faithful, and the Church approved her cult as a blessed.
