Saint Faustino Míguez González was a Spanish Piarist priest, teacher, and founder. Born in Xamirás, he devoted himself to the education of children and to the pastoral care of families, especially through the ministry of Christian schools.
He founded the Calasanzian Daughters of Divine Shepherdess, entrusting them with the education of girls and the promotion of Christian virtue. His scientific interests and teaching served his priestly mission, while his life of prayer kept Christ at the center of his work. He died in Getafe on March 8, 1925, and was canonized by Pope Francis in 2017.
