Saint Stanislaus Papczynski was a Polish priest, spiritual writer, and founder of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. Born in Podegrodzie, he entered the Piarists, became a respected teacher and preacher, and developed a deep devotion to the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

He founded a new religious congregation dedicated to promoting devotion to Mary, praying for the dead, and serving the poor and marginalized. His life united contemplation, penance, love for the Passion of Christ, and zeal for the salvation of souls. He died near Warsaw on September 17, 1701, and was canonized by Pope Benedict XVI in 2007.
