Saint Rodrigo Aguilar Alemán was a Mexican diocesan priest and martyr who served the Church during the religious persecution in Mexico. Born in Sayula, he was known for his devotion to the Eucharist, his love for the people, and his courage in continuing his priestly ministry when churches were closed.

Rodrigo was captured in Ejutla and refused to renounce the Catholic faith or abandon his priesthood. He was hanged on October 28, 1927, after forgiving those who killed him. He was canonized by Pope John Paul II on May 21, 2000.
