Saint Juan de Ribera was a Spanish bishop, patriarch, and reforming pastor of the Catholic Church during the age of the Counter-Reformation. Born in Seville, he became Archbishop of Valencia and devoted himself to the renewal of clergy and the instruction of the faithful.

He founded the College of Corpus Christi in Valencia, promoted the proper formation of priests, celebrated the liturgy with reverence, and cared for the poor. His episcopal ministry was marked by fidelity to Catholic doctrine and zeal for the sanctification of his people. He was canonized by Pope John XXIII in 1960.
