Saint Vincenza Maria Poloni was an Italian virgin and foundress who made the care of the poor and sick the center of her Christian vocation. Born in Verona and baptized with the name Luigia Francesca Maria, she grew in prayer and charity while serving those who were suffering in her city.

With the encouragement of the Church, she founded the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of Verona. Her daughters continued her apostolate of compassionate service, especially among the sick, the elderly, and the abandoned. She died in Verona on November 11, 1855, and was canonized by Pope Leo XIV on October 19, 2025.
