LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - The system is set to hit stores November 10 and will cost $399 - but is it worth it?

Let's start with the specs: If you don't already have one, it's time to invest in a 4K TV or monitor for the PlayStation 4 Pro's new 4K graphics capabilities.

PS4 Pro creator Mark Cerny spoke at a New York City press conference to say: "It's for the hardcore gamer -- or the one who's invested in a high-definition [display]."

Calling all PC gamers! Your Ultra-resolution monitors can now be used to play console games - not that many will make the switch but at least there's a more palatable option for the hardcore Final Fantasy lovers.

the PS4 Pro features a 1TB hard drive, advanced graphics and a faster processor. Developers refuse to give more detailed specs but we'll take it!

Forbes reported Sony's Interactive Entertainment Head, Andrew House, stated: "I would say the majority [of 4K games on the PS4 Pro] will be upscaled - at least based on the game portfolio I have seen to date."

This means games created specifically for the console will reveal amazing graphics while upgraded games may retain some pixelation.

Digital Spy asked if the term "4K" was a misleading term.

House responded: "No, I don't think so. I think that whatever the term is, it's a question of whether people see a demonstrable difference in the game experience or not, rather than the term we use to apply to it.

"I think that's what people are looking for and they'll make their judgement as to whether that's working for them or not."

Vice reported several games would be enhanced for 4K resolution and the following have been confirmed:

  • Battlefield 1
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
  • Days Gone
  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited
  • Farpoint
  • FIFA 17
  • Final Fantasy XV
  • For Honor
  • Ghost Recon: Wildlands
  • Horizon: Zero Dawn
  • Infamous: First Light
  • Killing Floor 2
  • The Last of Us: Remastered
  • Mass Effect
  • Andromeda
  • Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
  • Paragon
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • Spider-Man
  • Steep
  • Titanfall 2
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
  • Watch Dogs 2
  • The Witness.

Is 4K resolution and claims of a faster processor enough incentive to purchase the console?

At $399, sure. It could be - but why else should consumers be interested in the PS4 Pro?

It will pair with the PlayStation virtual reality headset, rumored to be in stores in October.

The console will come at a higher price than some may like and there may not be many impressive changes but if you plan on using the PlayStation virtual reality headset, you'll need the faster rendering and clearer images.
