LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Mike Pence may be Donald Trump's running mate. Trump allegedly picked the Indiana governor after a lengthy vetting process. The formal announcement will take place on Friday at 11 AM. A Republican with inside knowledge of the Trump campaign has leaked the information early.
Trump considered several other people for the position. Among those on his list: Newt Gingrich, Christ Christie, and Army Gen. Michael Flynn. Some also speculated that Sarah Palin could have joined Trump on the ticket.
Most agree that Trump needs a running mate who can bring value to the table, such as a battleground state. Pence, as governor of Indiana could deliver that state for Trump.
Trump is behind Clinton in national polls, but he is gaining ground. He is also leading in battleground states which will be key to his win.
Clinton will not face prosecution for her emails, but the court of public opinion is against her. Clinton's popularity is fading, even before the Democratic convention.
Clinton is a weak candidate with low public approval ratings. She scores below Trump on trustworthiness. The Justice Department will not charge her for her email scandal, but the public is angry. There is a belief Clinton is careless.
Trump is often accused of racism, but this accusation is debatable. Furthermore, most of our presidents have been racist, misogynistic and even worse. Despite these character flaws, these leaders have managed to do their jobs. They have not turned the nation into a fascist state.
Clinton is also accused of racism. Clinton era politics are responsible for the mass incarceration of blacks. Clinton has had black activists kicked from her events.
Most Americans believe Clinton is interested in power and herself. Trump, appears to have genuine concern for the people and the nation. His lack of experience in politics may be an advantage as Americans see him as an outsider.
