LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Cheryl Mills, who served as Hillary Clinton's chief of staff during her tenure at the State Department, will be deposed on Friday regarding Clinton's use of a private email server. Conservative watchdog group, Judicial Watch, has asked for recordings and transcripts of the depositions to be made available.
Attorneys for Mills are asking a federal court to block this request on the basis that Mills' testimony could be taken out of context and used for political purposes. U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan will rule on the motion. Mills stated in her motion that she is fine with release of the transcripts, just not audio or video recordings.
Judicial Watch has not yet responded to the court's request for comment, but said it would do so before the deadline in the case.
Several State Department staffers have given testimony to the FBI. Former deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin, as well as a computer technician are expected to provide testimony soon. Hillary Clinton herself will likely be called.
While there is a good chance Mills will be granted her wish to have video and audio kept confidential, the transcripts will almost certainly be released. And they will be used against her and Hillary Clinton because that's exactly what happens when you hold a position of public trust, then use it to break the law, people criticize you based on your sworn testimony.
She should have understood this before helping Hillary Clinton break the law and compromise state secrets.
