'We don't have much of a race anymore.'

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton came up on top in Tuesday's New York primary, much to the chagrin of Catholics across the United States.

We ask you, humbly: don't scroll away.

Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Clinton, who recently made the mistake of saying, "The unborn person doesn't have constitutional rights" and has a questionable political background, definitely doesn't have the support of Catholics in the United States.

Donald Trump's many flaws have certainly curbed the number of religious supporters; however, the businessman has recently seen a growth in conservative support.

The growing support for both Trump and Clinton was evident in the recent New York primary, where Trump took 89 of the state's 95 delegates and Clinton got away with 139 of the 247 delegates.

On the Democrat side, Bernie Sanders trailed behind Clinton by 33 delegates while John Kasich only received three of New York's delegates.

From a midtown Sheraton Hotel, Clinton proudly stated: "We started this race not far from here on Roosevelt Island. And tonight, a little less than a year later, the race for the Democratic nomination is in the homestretch and victory is in sight."

Meanwhile, at Trump Tower, Trump's victory speech included a comment about Ted Cruz and how Cruz was "just about mathematically eliminated."

Trump didn't stop there - he stated: "We don't have much of a race anymore. We're going to go into the convention I think as a winner."

To win the nomination, a Republican nominee must lead with 1,930 delegates, while the Democrat nominee requires 2,383.

As of 9:12 a.m., Trump holds 845 delegates and Clinton leads with 1,930. Both seem on the path to victory as Sanders trails Clinton by 731 delegates and Cruz is behind by 286.

There are 734 delegates still available for Republicans and 1,646 for Democrats. Sanders holds the potential to catch up to Clinton and Cruz has a small chance of taking Trump. Who will come out on top in this exciting race? Only time can tell.
