It's time to drop out, Ted Cruz

Republicans need to focus on Clinton now.

It's time for Ted Cruz to call it quits. Although he won't. The candidate has no articulate strategy for victory and Donald Trump is virtually guaranteed to win the nomination at this point. Ted Cruz is now a liability for the Republicans who should be taking advantage of the prolonged Democratic race to focus fire on Hillary Clinton.

Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - Sean Hannity has had Ted Cruz on his show several times, giving the candidate yet another chance to detail his path to the nomination for viewers and listeners. Ted Cruz relied by saying that Donald Trump was incapable of running a lemonade stand.

Cruz continued, criticizing Trump's campaign for its lack of grassroots organizing. He pointed out the his campaign has won five states recently.

Unfortunately for Cruz, a string of small victories in delegate-poor states does nothing to overcome Trump's victories in large states where the elections are decided. The socialist Bernie Sanders has suffered from the same problem.

Hannity criticized Cruz declaring, "Every time I have you on the air and I ask a legitimate question, you throw this in my face. I'm getting sick of it. I've had you more than any other candidate on radio and TV. So I ask you, Senator, a legitimate question for the audience, why don't you just answer it?"

Cruz is trying to scramble for every vote he can get, but like Sanders, it's a case of too little too late. There is no strategy that Cruz can follow other than hoping for a contested convention and winning on there on the floor.

Of course, in a contested convention, Republicans might choose someone else, such as Mitt Romney, to rival Clinton, as opposed to Cruz.
